Magnificent Bohemia Pianos are hand crafted in the Czech Republic.
The history of piano-making in Bohemia began as early as 1871 in the
town of Jihlava when Josef Josef Bělohlávek, a skilled piano-maker,
opened his small workshop and gave work to several local craftsmen who
were to become the first of many generations of piano-makers.
In 2006 - after very good co-operation with the important European
piano maker C. Bechstein, Berlin, it was decided to create a new
alliance within the upright and grand pianos building in Europe with
Bechstein owning 51% shareholding.
The upright pianos are still produced today using time honoured
traditions incorporated with the modern era still in the town of
Jihlava and the grand pianos Grand Pianos Production facility is in
radec Králové.
If you get a chance to travel to Bohemia in the Czech republic this is
the cultural centre of piano manufacture today in Europe.

Company History
Europe's industrial revlution at the end of the 19th century created a boom for the piano industry in what is today known as the Czech Republic. As early as 1871, in the picturesque city of Jihlava, the pianos were produced in partnership with 'Hoffman & Czerny', an Austrian company. Constantly striving to innovate and improve - that was and remains the hallmark of Bohemia Piano. |
